Did the cruising on Avalon Waterways live up to the hype?
Yes, travelling with Avalon was exactly what I expected. But the itinerary and destinations far exceeded my expectations!
Avalon was incredibly focused on service. There was always someone there to see what else they could do for you or if you needed anything. While the staff on the ship work long hours, you’d never know it by how they treat everyone with such kindness and care. They want to ensure you had everything you needed, and they make it clear that service is their top priority.
When it comes to the food, if you don’t see something that you want on the menu, all you need to do is ask, and the staff will do their best to accommodate you.
How was the river cruise?
River cruising really sells itself. The itinerary was amazing you get all the luxury onboard, combined with a unique and immersive experience on land. The food and service are wonderful and allow you to truly relax and enjoy the ride. Avalon Waterways takes care of everything.
The best thing about sailing on the Danube with Avalon is having the ship as a home base and being able to sail directly into so many interesting ports. Everything you need is nearby.
How was the Panorama Suite?
The Panorama Suite is definitely worth the money! Plus, you’ll have access to the Panorama Lounge, which is a great place to relax, enjoy the view and have coffee, refreshments and a little snack.
Is cruising on Avalon Waterways expensive?
The trip doesn’t have to cost a ton of money compared to other cruises. If you wanted to, you could experience it by spending only a little extra money. Unlike many other cruise lines, aboard Avalon Waterways pretty much everything you could want is included.
What was the best part of the trip?
I absolutely loved the little village of Durnstein, Austria! It was unlike anything I have experienced before, and I thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the views and the overall magical feel of the village.
Bon voyage!
