Wherever you were in 2022, CAA North & East Ontario was with you – quite literally! After two years of cancelled activities and social distancing, the club threw itself into events, festivals and sports, meeting Members in person, sharing ideas and most of all, having fun.
We joined more than a million people at 26 events across Ontario, from Thunder Bay, Sudbury and North Bay to Petawawa and Ottawa. Our Brand Ambassadors gave out more than 13,200 pieces of branded swag, focused on multi-use items like metal straws, Frisbees, golf towels, tire gauges, pet waste bag dispensers, as well as a whole collection of awesome backpack bags. In fact, we’ve done away with single-use freebies in favour of sustainable things that can be used over and over.
But we didn’t just hand out swag – CAA Members are a fun crowd, so we invested in new games, like CAA Plinko, as well as our all-time favourite CAA Corn Hole. More than one Ontarian did a double take when they saw our new wheels, too. We rolled out CAA-branded bikes to promote Bike Assist™ and the eye-catching Icicle Tricycle, our very own CAANEO mobile ice box filled with delicious treats we handed out freezies at our events.
And then we joined a massive parade – the colourful and joyful Capital Pride Parade in August, to be exact. Our Pride Rainbow CAA Everyday van, Icicle Tricycle and Brand Ambassadors, staff and even one of our pet pooches marched, cycled, and danced through Ottawa in support of the LGTBQ community. We handed out CAA Everyday temporary tattoos, rainbow sunglasses and CAA Everyday rainbow cinch bags to some of the more than 30,000 parade attendees. Most importantly, we were able to spend time chatting and hearing from our Members, who showed us just how broad their needs are and what we can do to help make their lives a little better, every day.
