Seasonal household maintenance checklist
Fall
- Replace HVAC filters
- Remove lint build up from dryer vents
- Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Store or cover patio furniture
- Shut off exterior faucets
- Drain and store hoses
- Inspect fire extinquishers
- Protect air conditioner with a waterproof cover
- Book a furnace inspection
- Fix exterior gaps where small rodents could enter
Winter
- Change direction of ceiling fans
- Clean the chimney of debris (if applicable)
- Vacuum bathroom exhaust fan grill
- Add more insulation if needed
